This Is One Of The Best Things Ive Written So Far. So I Hope U Like It. Take A Stand Against Discrimination It all started back in the 1800s with the Civil War where the whites used black people as slaves. They use to beat them till they nearly were bleeding to death. They would even starve them to death sometimes. Until one courageous woman named Harriet Tubman decided to free all the slaves. She took them to the underground railroad and freed them all. She was a hero. Even thought back then they didnt have a law about civil rights, it wasn't right for them to beat them liek that just because of there colour. And then there was Rosa Parks. The woman refused to give up her bus seat to a white man and got arrested for it to. She was one person who started the Civil Rights Movement. And then there is Malcolm X. He was and activist in the Civil Rights Movement. But later he was assasinated. They would Seperate drinking fountains for whites and blacks. They would have "coloured" balconys in movie theaters. So Martin Luther King Jr. helped stop it all. He became a non-violent activist in the Civil Rights Movement. With his famous "I Have A Dream" speech, he became very well known. In 1962, president Lyndon Johnson signed the Civil Right Act On July 2. In 1965, Johnson signed a Voting Right Act So Blacks Were Allowed To Vote. Then Reverend Martin Luther King Jr. Was Murdered in 1968 in Memphis, Tennesee. There have been many more types of Discrimination. Like Matthew Shepard. He was killed because he was gay. He was lared from a campus bar on October 7 By two men who told him they were gay. He was driven near a Sherman Hills neighborhood, tied to a split-rail fence, tortured, beaten and pistol-whipped by his attackers, while he begged for his life; he was then left for dead in near freezing temperatures. A cyclist who found him on Snowy Mountain View Road at 6:22 pm, some 18 hours after the attack, at first mistook him for a scarecrow. He was unconscious and suffering from hypothermia. His face was caked with blood, except where it had been partially washed clean by tears. His killer Aaron McKinney was sentenced to jail. Discrimination is one of the worst things in the world. No Matther if there white, black, gay, bisexual, transexual, old, male, female, mentally ill, jewish, or just different from you, that doesn't give any one the right to kill them. No one understands what there family has to go through when they lose there child. Itz harder for them than it is for the person who killed them. You Should Respect others, treat them the was you want to be treated. So take a Stand Againt discrimination.
